We are proud to be returning sponsors of the Alberta Student Energy Conference. The sixth annual event will be held in downtown Calgary at the Telus Convention Centre on Friday March 20, 2015. Our team is looking forward to interacting with Alberta’s top undergraduate students and other industry professionals.
ASEC’s goal is to inspire the next generation of energy leaders and empower them to explore and engage the challenges that will define the future of Alberta’s energy industry.
As a sponsor of this year’s event, we have some unique opportunities to interact with students who are attending. These include participating in the presentations, a booth at the career fair and attending the banquet dinner.
At the conference, Peter Thomsen, Reservoir Engineering Manager of our Primrose and Wolf Lake asset will be presenting on the theme of CHALLENGE – turning today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities.
Peter will be sharing information on the opportunity that he sees for individuals to make their impact in the oil sands. His presentation will touch on how developing Alberta’s oil sand resources presents engineers with multidisciplinary challenges related to technical tasks, regulatory requirements, stakeholders, sustainability and economic conditions. These challenges present exciting opportunities to act as a leader spearheading innovative projects and unlocking technical capabilities informed by scientific decisions. You can hear Peter speak from 2:50 – 3:20 PM on the day of the conference.
We’re looking forward to sharing our insight into how Canadian Natural tackles the challenges of the oil and gas industry and turns them into opportunities to become a world class company.
Be sure to look for an update from us after the event to see all the highlights of the day and learn more about the event.
